June 2025 Betting Recap – New Strategies, Lessons Learned, and Next Steps

Hello everyone! Time for a quick June update on my betting results.

This month was quite different: I spent very little time betting due to a much‑needed week of vacation. It was a good opportunity to step away from screens, recharge, and let the betting bot gather experience on its own.

Main Strategy Performance – First Negative Month in a Long Time

For my primary betting strategy, June only had one single bet placed – and it lost.
To be fair, this bet should never have been posted: an incorrect piece of data from the API (and confirmed by multiple stats websites like Soccerway and Flashscore) made the bet invalid. I even warned about this before the game, but of course, I still count it in my stats.

Result: my first negative month after a long positive run. I’m confident this will be balanced out over the next few months.

Because of the promising results from my new betting strategies, I decided to spend less time searching for bets with my original base strategy and more time on strategy development instead (see the P/L graph further down).

Development of New Betting Strategies

It’s now been three months since I started testing and refining new strategies.

What started as 1 single strategy has now grown to 14! These strategies are quite similar, but some apply stricter filters and additional conditions.

Here’s how the overall profit curve has evolved since the start:

Here are some highlights:

  • Strategy 1 had a very tough June (-58 units). This is my least restrictive strategy.
Despite that, it is still positive overall with +71 units after 355 bets.
To improve it, I introduced a new filter based on the outcome of each team’s previous match. This change has led to two new, more efficient strategies with much better results.
  • Strategies 2 and 4 (very similar in their rules) had another excellent month.
When applying the new filter to these strategies, I noticed a higher strike rate (Strategy A), even though the total profit is slightly lower. Time will tell which version proves more reliable.
  • Strategies 5 and 6 also continue to show good profit and very high strike rates, even though their sample size remains smaller due to being more selective.

For some strategies, the number of bets is starting to become meaningful (355 for Strategy 1, 215 for Strategy 2). However, June’s downswing for Strategy 1 is a good reminder that more months of data are needed before making strong conclusions.

Current Challenges I Face in Betting Automation

Here are the main issues I am still working on:

1. Reliability of the API

Some API data is incorrect. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix, as alternative APIs are expensive and can also contain errors.
As long as the strategies stay profitable over the long term, this remains a point to improve but not a blocking factor.

2. Refresh Rate of Odds

The API only updates Pinnacle odds every 3 hours.
This sometimes distorts my Bet2Invest results:

  • A bet might qualify for a strategy in the morning but no longer fit just before kickoff.
  • And the opposite can also happen.

Next step: I plan to log every bet that meets the criteria at the exact moment it does, instead of only tracking based on the latest available odds.

Goals for July 2025

Here’s what I aim to achieve during July:

  • Automated email alerts for strategies A and B, so I no longer need to check them manually.
  • Detailed reporting of which bets meet each strategy at a given moment.
  • Improved bot alerts: not only show the qualifying Asian Handicap line, but also analyze neighboring lines to see how much margin there is for a bet to fall in or out of a strategy.

Once these are in place, the next big milestone will be fully automating bet placement.

Looking at API Options for Automated Betting

I’ve started researching APIs for automated bet execution:

  • AsianConnect: free but reportedly unstable. Access requires a turnover of about €5,000 per month.
  • Eastbridge: too expensive at the moment (around €2,500/month after the initial two months).
  • PS3838 API: free and appears to be the best fit for my needs. This will likely be my go‑to solution.

Once this system is running smoothly, I’ll be able to resume publishing detailed Bet2Invest results for these new strategies. For now, my priority is on development and optimization.

Final Thoughts

June was a challenging but very productive month. Despite the negative result for my main strategy, I am excited about the growth of my portfolio from 1 to 14 strategies. The next few months will be all about refining these methods and automating the process further.
